Daandiya is the traditional folk dance form of Gujarat. It is associated with the scenes of holi.
Daandiya has several forms but the forms performed during Navaratri is popular. The sticks of the dance represent the sword of Durga.
The women wear traditional dresses such as colourful embroiderd choli gaghra and dupattas dazling with mirror work and heavy jewellery. The men wear special turban and kedias but this varies regionally.

The cultural important place which I selected was Sivagiri which is very near in my home town varkala.Sivagiri is a pilgrimmage in India where one of it's social reformer Sree Narayana Guru's tomb is located and placed where Guru was enlighted and got the salvation. The samadhi of the guruattracts thousand of devotees during the Sivagiri pilgrimmage
